Mushroom & Swiss Burger Casserole

Tools Needed
  • Large skillet (for browning beef)

  • Spatula

  • 9×13 casserole dish

  • Medium saucepan (optional, if noodles cooked separately)

  • Colander

  • Mixing bowl

  • Cheese grater

  • Oven mitts

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

  • ½ cup beef broth

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 cups cooked egg noodles

  • 1 to 1½ cups Swiss cheese, shredded

Instructions
  1. Cook the Beef: Brown ground beef in a skillet; drain excess grease.

  2. Sauté Veggies: Add butter, mushrooms, and onions. Cook 5–6 minutes until softened.

  3. Make the Sauce: Stir in cream of mushroom, beef broth, Worcestershire, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  4. Add Noodles: Fold in the cooked egg noodles and combine evenly.

  5. Bake: Pour mixture into a greased baking dish and top with Swiss cheese.

  6. Cook: Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are bubbly.
